Re: Blowstock lining (Delrin)

You’re right...unnecessarily tightening the silicon ring is way over doing it; merely finger tight snug does it ....and the valve will work perfectly as a one way valve.

Re: Testing air tightness of bag

I’d readily agree 30 seconds is quite adequate....albeit there’s that recent demo video of Bruce Hitchings displaying the superb air efficiency of his Balance Tone drone reeds....the vid wherein a...

Re: Testing air tightness of bag

Re: Drone instability, poor blowing or moisture?

I use a pour-off vinyl tube with a Trap-Dri.

Re: Blowstock lining (Delrin)

Re: Drone instability, poor blowing or moisture?

Yes....a leaky metal drone cap could do it...under the cap the shoulder ‘disc’ surrounding the drone Bush might have had its adhesive fail.

Re: Bagpipe ID - MacPherson?

Interesting detail I've not seen before. I cannae say if it's MacPherson. The radiused internal corners I was asking about is a Sinclair detail MacP would have used during the late 50's- early '60's...

Re: Blowstock lining (Delrin)

The moose valve is not intended as a water trap...and cannot effectively act like one. It’s height alone is insufficient to ‘trap’ any meaningful amount of condensate;...leaving the screw-in collar...

You might...

Re: Post Pandemic bag hygiene

How about the famous ol' Dettol. ?
For 20 years in USA I often wondered what it was...mentioned in the 'blue book"; then I landed in a Hong Kong posting and found a bottle of it on the grocers...
