Colin Kyo. The most comfortable and easiest to tune chanter I've played. Or an Ayrfire, they have a nice crack to them.

You have to consider the "feel" of the bag. It would likely be quite difficult to maintain consistent tone with a rubber bag due to its elasticity. And honestly, the prices aren't so bad; we play...

Silver or aluminum? David Davidse can do the premium thistle on aluminum as well, but it's not quite as detailed and a little more rough because it's so much harder of a material and his engraving...

Having owned Gibson, Dunbar, Lindsay, Walsh, and Naill practice chanters... Naill ABW all the way. Followed by the Walsh ABW, a super nice sounding PC and fairly cheap.
