exactly the same timing our New Jersey USA band introduced them....with the requisite MacAllister gut busters. We then went on to become EUSPBA GR 3 Champions for two consecutive years a few years...

All present and correct......except...Itís merely a tv show...produced only for commercial purposes...ie selling products. Its all scripted..the looks on the judges faces, their off the cuff ...

The MK 2 chanter design pitch range is 474-476hz. ( are you sure itís not a Mk3...design pitch is/about 10hz higher iirc)

Using your tuner...set it on 449hz. Mouth blow to set the clear...

Selbie are very nice stable reeds with an attractive price point. They sound very steady and have no issues in my experience. Iíve set up multi dozens of sets over the years..mainly in new Mccallum...

IMHO you've now idíd the major problem.

Get a 26-27Ē reed in your GHB and youíll have little issue to thwart your keeping up.
Itís hard to play a hard reed. ( 30+Ē )

Fwiw ...under the old dictum ď play the largest bag you can manageĒ....the difference between the Canmore M and L is a mere 3/4Ē. So I advise to get a L. Youíll never feel it. i think nobody would....
