If under your ‘comfortable’ blowing pressure the reed gurgles on low G...it’s too easy for you...you’re overblowing it. Thus the top notes are likely to be shrieking...and/or squealing on low hand. ...

I’m going to go with your reed is too easy...or too strong...try a few inches stronger or lighter reed before shelling out $150+ for another bag.....and work to polish your cut off technique.

Similar....A friend came by with a great set of ‘57 S /I Hardie’s he inherited...his uncle who had played them was a winning top grade piper for decades.
In the tenors I tried many make reeds,...

��. I did for a year or so while having some dental work completed. The price was right...and the pen grip is somewhat less obvious ...more ‘purpose built’ looking...than a plain old chunk of rubber...

Ahh,...got it . I’ll keep an ear to the grindstone for you. ��. Rooklidge has a good possible solution albeit stilla retrofit. I’ve always liked RGL pipes.

Recommend tAke...or at least try... the rubber grip from a cheap ballpoint pen. It works as well and won’t cost $6 + postage.

I’d agree.....the blackest abw shows more as browny-grey in broad sunlight. Hasn’t been pleasant enough here lately to jog my memory how does ebony show,..but remaining ‘black’ iirc.

Might you please describe the diff between Mk2 and Mk3? Is it mainly the foot profiles? As mentioned prior I might wish to match a used one up with a young lads chanter...if I can confirm which model...

ACE Hardware ‘Emergency Repair Tape’ ...black stretch rubber pressure tape. And to get it off just roll it off it becomes a fat O ring.

I didn’t realize the Mk3 was available as far back as 2000. I’ve pretty exclusively been using McCallum chanters since ca 2003 with 2 bands and a plethora of students.
I’ve dropped a note to RTS...
