Fair question. Yes ..some top bands have successfully pushed somewhat well beyond 480,..and some wannabe bands are not so successful.

I acquired on old S/I set..the ivory bulb almost looked like old catalin it was so orange....which I attributed to the former owner smoking like a chimney.

Polypenco trees only grow well in the cooler climes of UK.
Conversely,in USA the Delrin tree abounds due to a slightly more temperate and less wet climate. :shrug:

FWIW....one can buy a small but adequate lump of pure beeswax at an Ace Hardware store ( in USA) for about $4. It will last many years.
