I looked. Absolutely agree with your choice. Beautiful pipes and I have heard them as well at a wedding I did as a pastor--these were regular style Maclellans and were gorgeous in and of themselves...

I've wondered with these types of sets if the differences in the drone shapes affects the overall sound at all, if thicker would result in lower or heavier tone.

It strikes me as well that however dull they might sound to our ears today, was that the norm and how they "should sound" back when they were made--in that regard how subjective is our ear for piping...
