I play canning reeds in my naills, togethger with a mccallum mcc2 abw chanter and a gilmour reed. I have however ordered a shawn husk reed for the chanter, and I'm really looking forward to trying it...

I really do like the fact that invisible whipping is just that: invisible. A sturdy fix that doesn't show through. But then there's the part about historical value... It's the same with any antique...

I agree, and pipes that aren't played just dry out and might crack even more over time. It's such a shame that these have been left sitting, but they simply aren't usable in their current state......
