Re: Iíve met my threshold and itís 15 degrees

Once in a while I am very happy to live on the California coast. This is one of those times!

Maybe someone needs to invent a battery-operated electric heater doublet... :thumb:

Re: The BlowHard

It crossed my mind, though I like the reliable fine adjustment of the pressure. Sure, you could tape over the hole in the rubber stopper for adjustment, but I sense a point of likely failure!

Re: The BlowHard

For those of us who don't always get time to practice, it might be a handy device to keep on our desks at work! I'm giving it some serious thought!

Re: Teachers and diaphragm vibrato

Jimmy McColl is known for playing vibrato. I was able to hear him in person doing it and it was pretty neat. (It might have been in my living room, but I can't recall!) I believe I was told that he...

What Aaron said—hi, Aaron!—and Pleasanton is a big games every Labor Day weekend. That’s less than 7 hours from L.A.

Oh, and check the WUSPBA website. It should list all the sanctioned...

Re: Clamptite instead of hose clamps?

It looks pretty nifty. My concerns would be overtightening and maybe cracking the wood, and undoing them without damaging the bag if placement needs to be adjusted. But it would certainly hold well....

Re: Karen Turpen, wife of the late Zudupiper

Laura, thanks so much for sharing. Such a shame. Dave died young. Sounds like that's the case with his wife too. Dave was super helpful when I first began piping in the 1990s. I'm glad to hear that...

Re: Pakistani Bagpipe Challenge

Because it was there? If I had time and money to kill, it'd be fun. Ok, and maybe enough interest too.

Re: Maureen Lee MacDonald

I saw that. A true loss to the piping community.

If I recall correctly, Tartan Thistle was helpful early on as a supporter of Bob Dunsire's new bagpiping online forum two decades ago.

Re: J. Higgins retail store closed up?

I just talked to John. He's still fully in business. He says it's a "false rumor" that he's closed up anything.

Re: Bell's Palsy

I admire your persistence and desire. I had a relative who developed Bell's Palsy at least a decade ago. It's not super uncommon.

Thanks for sharing the resources.

Best wishes with recovery and...

Re: If you see a good price somewhere

For that to be it, others would have to be selling them for at least $102.99 for him to save $100 US . . . :woot:

Re: What does the EUSPBA do?

I don't know about "officially". There's more or less a "gentleman's agreement" between the associations regarding territories. That said, the EUSPBA has sometimes been a bit aggressive pushing its...
