Without geeking out too, too much on oil and the fat breakdown that causes them to go bad, when the oil is within the cells of the wood, they are interacting in a positive way and the oil is not...

For stability of the wood and to prevent elongation of bores etc... almond oil or the secret formula of the Bore Doctor which even Ringo recommends (good enough for me!)

And now here is where I am humbled. Looking thru my stocks I find half the stocks are hemped to the mount... and I know darn well I donít do that... so I guess many times when Iím silently judging...

Typically, a moose valve and a water tube trap is all I need for about an hour of playing before I start to go flat here. Exceptions are the really scorching humid days when temps are north of 88*.
