Re: Web-Based Rehearsals

Our band has maintained our regularly scheduled rehearsal time/date, but moved to Zoom. After some experimentation, we have discovered:

Re: Virtual St Pats?

I was planning on having a one-man parade up and down my cul-de-sac tomorrow afternoon. Thought this might give a lift to some of the people (especially our older neighbors) on our street.

Re: Monthly Composition Thread - Jan 2020

Re: Learning online for drumming noobs

Bumping this thread... any updates Shantyboat?

I've signed up for RM online lessons, and have completed the first few "modules". The videos are pretty good, with a solid foundation in both...

Re: Rocket Drone Reeds Required

A set of Rocket Drone reeds just went up for sale on the "Pipe Band Pawn" FaceBook group. It's a closed group, so you may need to ask to join first.

Re: Awards

I'm not a competing piper, but whenever I get medals from running road races, I hang them on the Christmas tree. This means they get safely stored with the other tree ornaments, and get put "on...

Re: Learning online for drumming noobs

Please keep the updates coming!

I'm considering signing up for Rhythm Monster lessons. I'm a piper looking to build some drumming "street cred" by learning the snare. Figure it can't hurt to...

Seems a little pricey to buy the sensor, but if it helps with steady blowing it may be worthwhile.

Re: Gift pipes - what would YOU do?

Perhaps the current owner of the pipes could make sure they pass to the daughter when he no longer needs them. He would be able to continue using the pipes which were given to him, knowing that they...

We were there last summer, and signed up for AT&T's International Hot Spot service (we have bundled services through AT&T, including cellular). Bottom line is that it was simply awful, and we wound...

Re: Legal to sell music already in the public domain?

I'm in the same boat as Steve. I hadn't heard about Jim McGillivray's site until this post started. After reading Clandyrile's post, I had to see what it was all about.

Once I saw the content,...

Re: What do you wish someone had told you when you started?

[QUOTE=Kevin;1310901]

I wish someone had explained that a strike-in should be pat and then blow, (always in that order) earlier than they did.

So I've been playing for a little...

Re: Shopping for First Pipes

I was in the same boat last year, and wound up purchasing McCallum AB pipes. I can confirm the good reviews above. The pipes sound great, and are were relatively easy to set up and reed.
