I've piped in Lodge and worn my sgian dubh. I don't see a difference in having a sgian dubh and having a pocket knife in your pants pocket.

Another alternative to create .pdf's is PDF 995 ( http://www.pdf995.com/ ). This is the program that I use with BMW and soon with Drum Sriobh. It works great and you can't beat the price of $9.95. ...
