Re: Faking It - could you tell?

I went from "nothing" to "the pipes" for a college course in 10 weeks. (70 days?) You had to "demonstrate musical proficiency on an instrument you had never played before."

For Sale, 13 McCallum Poly Band Chanters.

I believe the vintage is 2000 or 2001. They have various degrees of carving. Nine are heavily carved, and four are best described as extremely carved...

Re: Any Ex-University of Chicago Pipers/Drummers?

That puzzle is a hoot. Most of us in the picture have one already. It was my first gig as a drummer so I'm at the BACK of the stupid thing. Big bummer!

We found out about the puzzle when...

Re: Ross bag repair

I've had a repair holding up for 6 months now. I went to a camping/tent store (Galyans in the midwest), and bought an air mattress repair kit. It was about $6. Came with some pretty powerful glue...

Re: More kilt than I need

J. Higgins has recut about 5 kils for me (3 made smaller, 2 enlarged). Absolutely flawless...aprons and pleats are perfect. I just mail it to them and get it back a few weeks later.

Actually, I write out all the theme notes on a post it and put a copy on the bathroom mirror, the rearview mirror, the...

Re: Pregnant piping!?!?!?!

Congrats!

I too wondered how long I could pipe. I just had a baby last month (missed the worlds...boo hoo), but I piped the season (including 3 and 4 hour practices) through my 8th month. I'm...

Re: Taorluaths, where does the time come from ?

Your post reminded me of myself when I started. I had previously been a violin player for years. I sat down with a borrowed copy of Scots Guards and tried to play a few things. Thing was, I was...
