My favorite chanter pitch is anywhere between 472 and 480 when the chanter sings and tunes well, and I get a nice, stable piob hi-G. Ideally for me, around 477-478.

Looks like the lid just rests on top, so that it's not 100% airtight, but close enough? I could see how that might make it a little less prone to mold growth.
