Yep..All the right stuff;.....Except for the rat race of now trying out...with expense...multiple different sets of syn drone reeds ...how about a cane bass reed to augment the popular gold standard...

‘ sounds’ like you’ve already got all the right stuff. You might already know that the chanter designer himself likes MacPhee reeds...
It’s a nice luxury to be able to switch reeds, pipes etc in...

WillyWog .....FYI....and as a matter of fact..the design spec of your McCallum MK 2 chanter is 474-476hz.( per McCallum)

Two bands I coach use about 30 of these chanters...consistently pitched...

The allegations were first raised in print in early 2007 ..probably examined initially during 2006. And dealt with accordingly by the courts.

And likely not achievable. Setting a bespoke 480hz+ Chanter down to 466~ will hardly fly....then, also,of course,...the drone tops would be nearly off the pins.

It would add mass to the tongue ...requiring more pressure for it to vibrate. It will flatten the sound...outside the bench design spec....which may or may not be right for the pipe.
