Re: Sign this petition for confiscated bagpipes!

I agree it was their own fault that their pipes were confiscated at the border.

However, permanent confiscation is way over the top considering they're only 17 and they're such high end pipes. ...

Re: So...when in the beer tent...

One of the best summers ever on the Ontario circuit was when Creemore Springs was running the taps...epically good brew. Whenever watery crap like bud, bud light, coors light etc is the only option,...

Re: New Bagpipe Software.

I see BMW going the way of the dodo...why? It's still $100 for 23 year old programming...If I had the cash, I'd buy the rights to BMW, turn it into a $9.99 android and iOS app and give the people...

Re: Refurbishing Pipes

Not sure I'd polish the inside of your drones if I were you. Having a little texture on the bores gives the pipes warmth and richness in tone. Polished drone bores result in a more buzzy and...

Re: Scot's Guards Vol 1 at Walmart.com

I don't care how cheap it is...Walmart is run by a bunch of scumbags....I'd rather pay $60+ at piping retailers than pay $31.80 at Walmart. I'd rather give twice as much money to an independant...

Re: to lick or not to lick

a slight lick of your fingers and a gentle pinch (as ytou described) on the very end of the blades to not only impart moisture but also some warmth is all you need.

It really does bother me quite...

Re: Piobmaster vs BMW Gold

I'd pass on BMW gold...There's no way I'd pay $100 for software that hasn't been updated since its release in 1999. $20 maybe.

Re: Dycem + Sweat, Solutions?

My bag cover had dycem on both sides of the bag. The inside stuck perfectly to my clothing, whether it be a tshirt at practice or a dress short sleeve and vest in uniform. The outside patch,...

Re: Bag-Size

I honestly don't know where retailers get the idea of using height as an indicator of bag size. If there is one indicator, it would be sleeve length. I'm 6ft with a tiny 32" sleeve. Most websites...

Re: Thoughts on tuners?

The problem with relying solely on a tuner to get your pipes set up is that you never learn to tune by ear if you haven't already. Calm seas never make for skilled sailors...I find my ear to be very...

Re: Thoughts on tuners?

I agree with William.
The Saul's downfalls make it almost as inconvenient as tuning solely by ear. The auto shut off frustrated the heck out of me.
If you think the Saul is expensive for outdated...

Re: Thoughts on tuners?

I have an HBT3. Its great for personal use, but I find it inaccurate for band use. Something about the band playing as a whole throws it off. The response time is very slow with or without the...

Re: Help Me Cracked Bass Drone :(

Sorry, but I highly doubt there is any glue that can hold a crack in blackwood together and stop it from spreading. There's considerable force at play. The best that glue could do is to seal the...
