Re: Weekend Snare Drum Tenor Workshop Instructors

I'm sure you will find that just about any instructor would be willing to come out and teach (myself included), but it's all a matter of money and getting the instructor there.

I'm fairly certain that SFU gets their heads from www.neckbone.net

Re: Taking No Shortcuts

It has never been closer to fruition that it is now. I genuinely believe it will be rolled out this fall. I am unsure how much of Taking No Shortcuts will be available, but I can tell you that I,...

Re: The Best Reason to Play Drums

I don't like it as much as the FFXPB snare. It appears to me that it is turning into a Premier. The thing I hate the most, height and tension are now on separate sides. I LIKED them being on the...

Re: band names on bass drums

I am confused. Aren't the heads done by these manufacturers just decals stuck on the head? I'm not asking to cast aspersions, merely trying to understand what they do differently to have their...

Re: Band meetup & fun gig

I would imagine MOST bands would be ok with the first part of your question. Having a smaller, lower grade band attend a practice and see how it runs practice. And I bet a bunch would stay...

Re: Old Rose Morris drum

Thanks for all those photos. That was great. Just what I needed. I have it all together and am only missing ONE piece. The plate that goes on the side. Not the badge that says rose Morris, but the...

Old Rose Morris drum

Re: Bass drum graphics

I know a lot of bands that use the Davis Drum Heads. They look great. Never seen em up close. How is it applied to the head? Is it a sticker or paint?

Re: Bass drum graphics

Look no further than www.neckbone.net The logo is MADE into the head, so it will never wear out. Nor will it fade in the sun. It will also not effect the sound at all, since it's not a sticker.

Re: pipe band drum inventory

Couldn't you just call and ask?

Also, if it's a busy business, like Mulligan and MacHendry (drumsplus), then they probably change daily, and having to make those changes on a website, would just...

They did receive their pipes back, and are on their way to Scotland for the World Championships.

It's $238 each way. Designated Port Base Inspection fee of $93, and a Staffed Non-Designated Port...

Re: Drum Score writing software

You could always hire someone to typeset your scores for you. I charge $5 per tune (this would include a snare, tenor and bass).

Re: RSPBA <> EUSPBA band grade equiv

Grade 5 bands from EUSPBA would likely compete in grade 4B in Scotland. Grade 4 bands from EUSPBA could compete in grade 4A or grade 4B. It would be up to the band. When i went last year (lead...

Re: light- weight side drum for 10 yr old

Another alternative is to buy a shorter drum. All the major manufacturers USED to make a 7" (approx) drum. Andante, Pearl and Premier. And they were pipe band versions, just marching band.
