The High B is attained by "Pinching",...

Re: Smallpipe Drone Tuning

so, using Bob's scenario, but adjusted to the lower pitch of the SSP, the Baritone E would sound at 165Hz, which would produce a (perceived) difference tone of 55 HZ against the bass- a very Low A,...

Re: Help with getting the air I blow into the pipes!!

Re: A Hymn a day

Why not play the G#?

Oddly enough, I play a lot of hymns (and other tunes) with High B and high G#, though the fingering that works for High G# on my chanters is slightly different:

Re: Smallpipe Drone Tuning

It depends on your partiicular set of pipes. I have a set of Kinnear A smallpipes and an added Chris Pinchbeck D chanter. The Baritone drone can be tuned to E or D. The Bass drone (A) can be played...

Re: Help with transition to pipes...

Auld Lang Syne might not be the best choice, as it needs a high B to be played properly. That said, when I'm just trying to get in shape after a layoff, I start with slow tunes that use the whole...

Re: 500 Miles dot source & 'Love' tune suggestion

Somewhere Along The Road

Does anyone know where I can find sheetmusic to this tune. I'm looking for a legal source to purchase. "Somewhere Along The Road" I've heard it performed by Steeleye Span, Maddy Prior, others.

OK, I think Je Vous Salue, Marie is doable. Do you have a source for Vive La rose, or did you mean "Lla vie en Rose"?
