Re: Can anyone tell me the 2/4 March

Re: Can anyone tell me the 2/4 March

Sorry, don't know the tune but just goes to show how much of our Pipe music is derived from ceilidh band stuff and how those who obsess over what doublings and such should be played where and whatnot...

Re: Drone Flags

I enjoy a quality made pipe banner that shows a bit craftsmanship and design...what I despise is seeing how many pipe bands have gone to the cheap dollar store quality flags that are mounted to bass...

Re: Pipe Band MSRHJ

Prefer to see the ghastly strathspey eliminated...an unmusical, tedious bit of put your feet to sleep exercise that only dancers care about.

Re: "Wrongly" arranged and misprinted tunes

I've heard quite a few tunes that have benefited from a good re arranging, some even transposed to a different time signature...far from what the original composer intended...one could say the...

Re: Kilgour Edinburgh pipes

Re: Pipe Band Tuning

Lol..that's if they bother to show up to practice before a band gig..there's also a lot of touchy types who take immense offense at being told to sit out anything these days...that's when they start...

If your chanter and reed are balanced, low A and high A set properly and in my case as I play a b flat chanter, both notes reading 466, it shouldn't matter which one you tune to..you should be able...

Re: Ridge or straight cut, which to you prefer?

I ordered both the 466 and 480 sets in early March and had planned to give them a full workout during a busy month of gigs and parades and then post a review, playing them in a set of 83 ABW Kintails...
