Re: Balancing chanter

Right on .. well do what you must. But do try to find someone if at all possible. Because also, let it be known, many/most of us are certainly not experts. I'm absolutely not. We can offer insights...

Re: Interest in a comprehensive piping wiki?

I absolutely feel this would be a worthy endeavor.

But a note of caution, I would take care to work toward being inclusive of (or at least willing to note) alternative approaches and techniques...

Re: Would you purchase your Blair electronic chanter again?

Short answer:
"Yes, I would definitely purchase my Blair chanter again."

Reasoning:
I have owned and used an original Deger since, I think, 2007 or 2008. I also recently bought a Blair once I'd...

Re: Balancing chanter

I always hate asking this .. but seeing as you have gotten plenty of feedback (and good feedback) on how to address your issue, I feel obligated to ask ... do you have an instructor?

If so, great...

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'll be getting in touch with some of the local bands, but in the meantime, I've prepared a listing in the Trading Post.

Re: Looking for tune: Motorway/Motorway to the Isles?

Yeah, it's a modern arrangement of Road to the Isles. Not published anywhere I'm aware of, but you can start with Road the the Isles, and go from there.

Re: "Fuss Factor" of cold-wind pipes?

Few things.

Re: New Piper Saying Hello!

Welcome Joe. Keep it up.

As I often like to say in regards to piping, "this isn't checkers; it's a life-long game of chess."

Enjoy it.

All the time.

It happens to all of us. Anyone who claims otherwise is lying to you (and/or to themselves).

I particularly thought this way after playing much less in college. Whenever I went...

Re: 2019 setup, changes?

Right on. Just curious. Personally I really like lower pitch ... eg. 471-474 ... but since the "pitch du jour" seems to be now up around 480 and what-have-you, I've grudgingly taken up a sharper set...
