Bon Scott's Bagpipes. Hardie's?

There is a youtube clip of Mark Evans of AC/DC saying that a set of Hardie pipes were bought for the recording of Long Way to the Top. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6m3ZzuWWD2k (1:50). Are they...

Biographies, photos of RG Lawrie, Peter Henderson, RG Hardie??

Is there a site with biographies of the makers and photos of them? I've had no luck so far trying to find photos of RG Lawrie, Peter Henderson or RG Hardie. It would be interesting to know what they...

Re: Help in identifying pipes. Maker? Wood?

I don't think they're Lawrie's, but that's the only name she gave me. Perhaps she was told they were when she bought them in New Zealand in 1991. If they are MIME pipes then they're way better than...

Re: Help in identifying pipes. Maker? Wood?

Thanks for the replies. It might stay a mystery. Jack, thanks for your question and thoughts. The mount material is not ivory, just dirty plastic which I'm gradually cleaning. It seems they've been...

Re: Help in identifying pipes. Maker? Wood?

Thanks so much for your thoughts and replies. Thanks for the suggestion of possibly Sinclair. That's given me a new angle to explore. I didn't think they were Lawries but that was the first name the...

How do I post pictures?

I've been told pictures can only be attached in the trading post section. For all other areas the image must be uploaded to a photo sharing site and the URL put in the post. I've tried this with...

Help in identifying pipes. Maker? Wood?

Would anyone be able to help in identifying these pipes? The lady who owns them bought them second hand in 1991. She thought they were Lawries. They have been mended in the past. The nickel ferrules...

Re: Is there any band that has no set uniform (i.e., own choice)?

Thanks for all the replies. I am thinking about reviving the pipe band our town used to have and wondered if own choice of tartan or uniform might be a possibility.

Is there any band that has no set uniform (i.e., own choice)?

Just a trivia question really, but is there is any band anywhere that chooses not to have a uniform (That leaves the choice up to the individual)?

Re: bagpipes galore ?

I have a set of the plain Delrin pipes from Bagpipes Galore. I really like them. They stay in my car most of the time and play in tune straightaway. I haven't even had to tape any chanter holes....
