Re: An interesting piece of data

I think a big factor will be the sample size. In this case, visitorship. If the number is small (sorry Calum, don't mean to imply anything), then just a small change in the demographics will skew the...

Re: Polyester thread instead of hemp = game changer!

That's interesting. To me at least, because I still do recurve archery and I've thought of using bow string material just like you say. But I'd thought it was a bit of an overkill and have never...

Yup, got that :thumb:

Before posting this thread, I looked at the Resources page and it went to a blank page :(. I had a quick look at the FAQ and didn't see anything helpful. Since you...

Re: A Gannaway bag with a zip - priming and dressing

No, not wiping it out, but putting it on, like er shoe polish I guess. Better access to seams and corners. Then, zip it back up, stopper up the stocks, and inflate bag.

A Gannaway bag with a zip - priming and dressing

How to season (primer and dressing) a Gannaway bag with a zip (no grommets)? The old-school method of pouring in primer/seasoning through a stock and massaging, and pouring out excess, or wiping...

Re: bagpipe prices c1950

I think you might be right. In re-reading the listing description, I can see that the seller doesn't say he is the owner; we are assuming that he is. In fact, the "it seems as though two pieces" bit...

Re: Clamptite instead of hose clamps?

Good idea this! I'll give it a go. Better than electrical tape over the irritating hex bolt head which keeps coming out after a while.

Will a rubber strip work under the cords for a tie-in bag -...

Maybe Ringo will know:woot:
Maybe the chairmaker might oblige with some straight-on shots of the tuning chambers and so on, hahaha!

Re: info on a set of Gillanders & McLeod pipes

Well, the price range is pretty wide depending on condition, amount of bling and the setup (complete set, or just sticks and stocks, with or without chanter, etc.). Here's a sampling of G&Ms sold...

Re: Bag Sizing Confusion

This might add to the "confusion" but thought Gannaway's (of pipe bag fame) take on the subject might be pertinent (or not):

Below, an effective method for checking bag position and playing...

Re: AAaarrrgggghhhhh!!!! My bag has sprung a leak!!!

Oh too bad. I know someone who used a small tent repair patch (PVC I think) and glued that to the inner side of the leaky area. I myself used Shoe Goo on a smallish portion around the end of the zip...

If it's "newish", can you not return it to Canmore (ask first of course)? They have a 2-year guarantee.

Re: Pipe bag - Livingstone pattern

My understanding is that by bringing the drone stocks forward, the left forearm (if you a rightie) has less bag to go around and therefore has less pressure applied to it. Not having tried one, I...
