Default Re: Whence the tune "Tommy, Aye!"?

Adam, actussing and Chris,

Thank you all... and very, very much... for both the
information... and the insights !!

I am always amazed... at the avenues and manners
in which music (and "our" tunes :) ... and stories... and
words and expressions... travel... cross-pollinate... and
then land...in the Great Somewhere Else... and seemingly
to be quite...and apparently... fully-formed... and... native
to the then-new places... of their latest appearance...

Perhaps... "As the Old Chariot Rolls Along"... someone...
and somewhere... will re-remember... how "Tommy Aye"
came to be... and share with us... its historical heritage...

Meanwhile... many more people have now heard the tune...
and ever more than I would have first supposed... when I
last placed this inquiry in our Forum bottle... and cast it out
upon the internet sea... and if enough are drawn to it... and
it is then played... then... and perhaps.... it shall not be... lost...

So... please have a go at it... if it strikes your fancy. :)

(Likewise... I have some concern... for "The Barren Rocks"...
but there's no mystery there. :)

Regards and Gratitude... for all of the assistance... and the
listening... to the tune... and with...

Regards to All,

Pip01
