Default Billy Connolly and Aberdeenshire

In his book "Made In Scotland: My Grand Adventures in a Wee Country", Sir Billy writes

"Pamela and I had a place in Aberdeenshire, and every year a local pipe band would march up my drive, play some music, then do the same at the homes of the other local lairds. This was a tradition that had been going on there for centuries and I loved being part of it and keeping it going."

I wonder of the Aberdeenshire forumites can expand on this for us. Who is the band, and when do they do this, for example.
