I don't want to advertise in this area, but I also thought that the introduction of a Women's Band Jacket was important and interesting enough to post here. With so many of us in pipe bands, it's a wonder this product has been so long in coming.
The Women's Piper Flex Jacket is tailored and sized for women, but it has the same styling as traditional band jackets. It will blend nicely in any band, adding crispness and uniformity to the group. (You can see pictures and link to the jacket in our most recent Industry News post.) |

Darn, too bad you don't have the Prince Charlie set up.

Do you happen to have kilt vests for women too? The ladies in our band complain that the vests available commercially don't fit over their hips and other regions.

Yay! A jacket to properly fit to go with my ladies vest finally will be nice. Tired of looking like I'm wearing a bag for a jacket.

Sorry we missed continuation of this discussion! We do in fact have vests. They're actually in stock now, but we were trying to figure out the sizing, relative to the jackets, before putting them online. Seven of us have participated in fittings to see how the sizes work on real people.
I think we've just sorted things out, and we hope to have vests up next week. What we'll be recommending is going with a jacket size that corresponds to bust size in inches. Going up a size might be advisable if a little more room is desired in the middle or hips. The vests are very tailored, and they are quite straight down the middle and onto the hips. Because of this, the bottom button determines whether a vest will fit, in many cases. For a very close fit, the vest size matching the jacket size/bust measurement will work, especially for a slender build. But going up a size makes sense for more room at the hips, and even for freer movements. When we have some pictures and get everything set up online, I'll post in the Industry area and come back here to let you know. Thanks so much for your interest! Best, Melissa at Henderson's |

Women's vests are now online. I hope the information on the new jackets and vests is helpful to you wherever you do your pipe band shopping. We're very excited about these products and hope the trend continues.
