I know that Russ has passed away...however, I would like to be able to contact someone about his tutor book, Piper's Primer. Tartan Thistle tells me that they purchased all of the copies that were in his estate and that they have run out. Anyone know of the existance of any spare copies...I have a new class of students starting and I love the book. I would contact his estate but I don't know where to go to do that. I would even pay to have new copies made from the old.

Any Ideas?

Try Joe Simpson, Band president of the Chattannoga PB. He was taught by Russ and may have access to the books or he might be able to get permission from the estate for you. He knew Russ very well. contact him through the pipe band website

Yes, Joe Simpson would know where to get any copies - if I recall correctly, he was also Russ' stepson (Russ' wife's son by a former marriage).

Thanks, I did get a PM from someone who has copies available and I will have my students get them from him...but he only has 8 left. I sent the band PM an email asking him to put me in touch with him. I would like to have them reprinted here in town for my students.

I have made arrangements to purchase Peter C's 8 remaining copies...but I would still like to contact the estate (family) and get a copywrite assignment for a few more. I can have a local printer here in Marine City make a new printing. I really really really like this tutor.
