New appointment

So, I step down as PM to get some breathing room, hoping to just pipe. Then start trying to learn snare.. and next thing I know.. WHAM, I'm appointed DM. Oh well.. sleep is overrated. Time to start learning more stuff!

I suggest that you look a Paul Olson's site, The Regimental Drum Major Association, and look to joining. http://www.drummajor.net/

There are some great videos on You Tube to use, and also instructional stuff from Drum Major Billy Jordan at http://www.scottishdrummajor.com/
and if you can get into some classes run by Billy or Jason Paguio, or some regional stuff, do so!

Well done -I spent 14 years as P/M,11 years as P/Sgt. Played around with mace and took Second place at D/M non- flourishing competition in Victoria last weekend.
A change is as good as a rest !. Paul Olson's site was a great help.
Judges Jason Paguio and Kevin Heffner put on a great demo and they're both a credit to the art.
