That sounds like an even better idea, but if you took tunes out for two years, then you'd really encourage bands to dig deeper I think.

When you think about it, it's kind of silly for "us" to be bothered by repetition in the top bands when it obviously doesn't bother the bands themselves.

Indeed, and I'm really just engaging this argument for the sake of it. I have no problem with the repetition - in fact it's quite interesting to listen (as we did last year) to back-to-back performances of The Balmoral Highlanders and compare them.

Hey Marc, slight correction, our MSR #2 march is Tom Wilson, by Tom MacAllister. Interestingly enough, SFU opened their MEDLEY with Tom Wilson in 1995, the first year they won the worlds. You don't hear grade 1 bands, or any bands for that matter, playing MSR marches in this key. I'm not sure why. There's so much music there.

See you tomorrow, and then on to Sacramento! Should be a great weekend.

I can't understand why anyone would not understand that by writing "Colin Thompson", I really meant "Tom Wilson", but I'll concede the point!

Thanks, John and, notwithstanding my inaccuracy, both tunes are seldom heard, yet should be played more often!
