Yeah I turned on the app one day and WTF?? I thought something was wrong with the app. But no, it just decided to look completely different, which was annoying.

Oh. I find the new design superior and much easier to use.

The new design does make sense now!

Last Friday, I fired it up on my cell phone to tune for a piobaireachd competition and nearly broke down in tears.

When it came to comp time, my chanter was wonderfully tuned, but my nerves were slightly thinner.

In regards to the 'new design' of which you speak, is this something new in the last month? Do you know if the maker of this app will send out updates, or do you get whatever edition you get when purchased?

I just purchased this last month, and from what I've seen thus far, it's a very good and useful product.

RJB,

I’ve used the app for about 18 months and didn’t specifically ask for updates, but one day it just had a different face - quite radically different.

It still works fine and is very useful, but it seems one of today’s “features” that nothing can be allowed to remain unchanged for more than a few months before needing “upgrades”.... most of which add nothing to the functionality but are simply an excuse for the designers to indulge themselves.

Not limited to Braw; everything from Apple to Microsoft and everywhere else suffers from the same disease.

I guess all it signifies is that I’m now a fully-fledged “ grumpy old fart”

It’s still a great app

Thanks Steve. I agree totally with your assessment.

I've often thought about starting an 'Old Curmudgeon's Club' myself!

You want to start a new one? What is wrong with the old one?

I didn't notice it working differently, just looking different, when it morphed.

But then again I'm new to the app, and not familiar with all of the features.

Cool if they could make an uilleann one! It would need a bigger chart to map two octaves.
