Know how an abw chanter in humid weather sometimes gets like Velcro?...your fingers drag rather than slide against a bit of the natural oils of the wood ,or whatever...so clean fingering is interrupted.
How do some of you counteract this on very humid days,...nose oil works great for the pinky and top thumb. What other tricks...? |

I know some people keep "tachum powder" (talcum powder) in their case to alleviate sticky hands.

Yeah...that would do...I’ve removed flat bridles and massaged a tiny bit of talc into the inside surface to alleviate the welded bridle experience with some reeds.

Yep, I've asked this before - a sticky chanter is no fun!
http://forums.bobdunsire.com/forums/...d.php?t=156284 http://forums.bobdunsire.com/forums/...d.php?t=123933 I think I'm going to wrap duct tape sticky-side-out on a chanter and just practice good lift. ![]() |
