Default Moderator meeting in Ft. Wayne Indiana

A couple of weeks ago I visited my dad in Ft. Wayne - drove there, just 2300 miles or so (really)..

Rich took some time out of his busy schedule to drive up to visit (and meet me for the first time - amazing after all these years that we had not met) - and thank to his lovely wife, here is a photo showing how 'serious' we were (not):

Uh Huh ........

I usually only smile that broad after 3-4 fingers of whisky.

Richard is on my " forum members I would like to meet list"! Must have been a fun visit.

Nice mug shots!

Sorry couldn't resist, piece o' trivia, I recognise those mugs! They're made by Dunoon Ceramics. (My home town) and unfortunately it's my Tartan too, I know I know, I need to get a life.

Good pic.

Cheers H.

My mother, who now lives in Texas, was born & raised in Indianapolis and has a cousin who lives with family in Ft. Wayne. We'd visit them from time to time, but after my grandmother died (and was buried in Columbia City, nearby), I thought I'd never really have a reason to go back. However, a few years later I found myself managing a team located in Ft. Wayne and traveled there several times for training and other meetings. When that department was eliminated, I once more thought that I would never see the place again.

I don't know how any of that is any way shape or form relevant to anything in particular; but I guess I'm just reacting to the fact that for some reason, Ft. Wayne seems to have entered the picture now again, even if it's just a passing mention on an internet forum for a hobby I only recently picked up. Life is weird. (or maybe I'm weird...haven't quite sorted that one out yet.)

Sigh.

Just as I was up in the Seattle area this month and when I'm close enough to visit Bob (for the first time), Bob runs off and galavants across the country right at that time. Figures. Just my luck!

Lucky dog, Rich!

I once had lunch with Bob in Hartford, Connecticut. Or should I say, he had lunch with me.*

I'll be at Pleasanton early afternoon on Friday and early Saturday morning through early afternoon. Sunday depends if I can manage to eek into the playoffs with my two fractured chest bones . . .

What a marvelous get together...

What a marvelous family.... We talked a lot with Bob's Mom and Dad, Wonderful Wife, cheery daughters... and friendly, sponge-up-the loving doggies...

and note the t-shirt I chose especially for the meeting....

From now on, I will be able to bring to mind not only the picture/vision but also the voices and dynamic personalities...

sufficient unto eternity...
