Default STOLEN: Strathmore model 2a & extras, in JFK airport terminal

Pipers, PLEASE be on the lookout for a stolen set of Strathmore Bagpipes:

-Stolen in JFK airport terminal, approximately 4am, on August 19, 2019
-Blackwood Strathmore bagpipes, model 2a (image attached from maker's site) ... 2a = imitation ivory mounts, with nickel slides, ferrules and caps
-Mismatched stocks and stock ferrules ... pipes have plain ferrules, but stocks have engraved ferrules
-Crack in bass drone top section
-McCallum band chanter
-Sheepskin bag
-Black bag cover with MacMillan pipe band logo embroidered on it

Stolen in a royal blue Amazon Basics bag (image attached), containing also:
-Soutar practice chanter
-MacMillan band uniform and kilt (image attached of kilt)

Please circulate, and contact Kayla Harper (http://www.facebook.com/kaypiob) if you come across anything online that might match even part of these described items. And please continue to keep in mind and share, as someone smart enough to try and sell them might decide to sit on them for a while first, and/or split up the items.

I don't think I need to impress upon any of you how devastating it is for one to lose their instrument ... upon returning home from the Worlds, no less!

Thanks to any and all.

...hesitated to suggest this, but there have been
similar posts in the past...

Check in with the Custodian Staff at the airport
and with their trash pickup services. Rip-off types
sometimes discover they've lifted something without
much (to THEM) value... a bag (or whatever) may
be quickly discarded.

There could be 'pickers', regularly sorting through
what comes out of a major airport.

Best of Luck -- positive outcomes have occurred.

The link is correct, but you may need to be logged in and/or friends with Kayla for it to work.

Here's the quote from her FB page:
"All: keep a lookout around JFK airport and the surrounding areas. My pipes were stolen right out of my hands while I was asleep. Royal Blue Amazon basics bag with a set of Strathmore pipes, MacMillan band uniform and kilt, Soutar practice chanter, and McCallum band chanter inside. Any and all help in finding them is greatly appreciated."

Someone else posted this about the pipes:
"Crack in the bass drone top section, stocks don’t match the pipes (they have engraved ferrules while the pipes have plain ones). These are a Strathmore 2a: imitation ivory, with nickel slides, ferrules and caps."
