Break the tune down into phrases so you're learning bite-size chunks and learn them by singing and/or the PC. "Binneas is Boreraig" is written in phrases not bars. Not to everyone's taste but it makes the phrases very clear. Then learn how they fit together (you'll get that as you work out the phrases anyway). I find it can be useful to give a letter label (A,B etc) to each phrase. Often the last phrase for each line is the same as the other lines so look for that.
