I think Gordon got into a bit of a pickle with the law .

Taking a break from the spotlight I imagine, and for good reason.

Who would have thought it.....

If you go to Press Reader there is also a story in the Scottish Mail on Sunday headed 'The Perverted Piper'.

......a kiddie fiddler.

No-one with an ounce of sense would ever go to that paper.

Well, seeing as our own piping media have done absolutely nothing to report on this story, we must take what we can.

I don't understand why our own outlets have been so quiet about this topic. It has been a matter of open discussion for years now. Looking through archives, all I can find is this quote from Piping Press:

It has been a very tough year for one of the world’s best pipers, Gordon Walker. Gordon’s genial nature and brilliant technique and music have been sorely missed at the major competitions and we can only hope that in the coming year the difficulties of the past 12 months will be overcome and we will see him strutting the boards once more.

Underneath are two even more sycophantic comments from readers.

I don't doubt there are people out there as equally storied as Gordon Walker and who have gotten away with it. We could do with taking an honest look at ourselves and asking if protecting the reputation of these people is the most important thing our own press could be doing.

But he is such a great player, we can’t just let his talent go to waste. Just like Brock Turner, right?

The sarcasm should be evident.
