Default Movie tune in Hyena Road

Recently saw a movie...Hyena Road..on Netflix. A Canadian coalition force based in current Afghanistan war setting.

At the end ...A military Piper in camo bdu plays a lament as casualty coffins are carried into a departing plane.

I'm guessing the tune might be a CAN equivalent of e.g. Flowers of the Forest .

It starts with two dotted high A's parted by an E.

Might anyone name that tune?

I could not pull up that link- maybe copyright problems? Anyway Raglan Road is a poem set to an older tune "Fainne Geal an là" or The Dawning of the Day, which dates from the 17th century as a harp air. Maybe that's the tune in question?

As it were the Canadian Forces’ official lament is the Flowers of the Forest.

I don't think so. That is not even close to Dawning of the Day that our and plays. I didn't stay long enough but maybe is is mentioned in the credits.

Here is Dawning: YouTube.

Cheers! Phil

That is indeed the tune I was referring to- Dawning of the Day/Fainne Geal an Là

At weddings, I often play it in waltz time.

But that is not the tune at the end of the movie Hyena Road.

Correct Phil, it is not Raglan, nor is it Flowers of the forest.
The movie is on Netflix for those that have a membership. Right at the end.
I don't recognize it at all, and I've played pipes for the Canadian military.
It seems to be a nice tune, combined with orchestral back up, so who knows where it came from.
The name of the piper is in the credits, but unfortunately the tune is not.
Perhaps a Canadian piper who has served in Kandahar, and there have been many , wrote this tune. It is a haunting melody...
