I haven't seen too many cnc engraved pipes that I've liked but I have to say the MacRae line from McCallum has some really excellent machine engraving. The best I've seen. It looks close to hand engraving.

To the original poster of this thread (Benn The Bad Piper), like others on this thread have stated, don't do a remount unless you have to. The pipes are made to the metal, not the metal to the pipes. It is very rare that you will have a set of pipes made, and with playing on them or not, that the wood doesn't move to some degree. That is just the way the world is.

Save your money and buy that dream set all at once. That way you aren't mounting metal over art. Ivory on slightly warped drones. It doesn't take much to wreak havoc when returning a drone section and it can be a real pain to do after market, so to speak.
