hi i cant seam to find a pipe setting for the The Lamentation of Owen Roe O'Neill, could anyone help me out? thanks!

Looking at the arrangement at https://tunearch.org/wiki/Lament_for_Owen_Roe_O%27Neill, I don't think it is compatable to the Highland bagpipe. Probably the uillean pipe though.

Here is my rough sketch of one way of accommodating it. It falls off the end of the scale in both directions, but not by much. You need a G sharp (fingered x oxx xoox on most GHB chanters) and you need to half hole the A# (spend some time practicing A - A# - B and down again till you can get the semitones consistently spaced).



Obviously, you need to take this sketch in conjunction with recorded versions by good players - you don't need to copy them exactly but you need to copy the spirit. To my mind the last bar of each part slows right down, about half speed.

PS, just to avoid confusion, this is in "key of bagpipe" - two sharps implied but not written.
