Default Re: Pipers' Gathering in Litchfield, CT

A word on Sessions & Misc.
Our Syracuse and Rochester SSP group has a session once a month at a local church.(in fact it's this coming Sunday) Our leader has spread the word of it's existence to all the Highland pipe groups in the area and others who might be interested, but none of them ever show up. We know that many of the local pipers have SSP pipes because our leader has instructed many of them.
We ask ourselves why they don't come? When we ask them why their reply is "I only use the smallpipes for practice". It's always the same people that show up each month. We have come to the conclusion that Highlanders have their thing and we have ours, so be it!
I for one wish we would stay with Wisdom House. It's a four hour drive for us in Syracuse, which is reasonable. I understand those of you who come from farther away wish it was closer to a major airport, but so far nothing looks better for us. We play, eat, sleep and brush our teeth together all in the same place, and good friendships are formed!
If any of you have better ideas of where to inquire (in our price range), please say so

I would add that bus lines and Amtrak come within 30 minutes of the Cairdeas site. For example, Alasdair White, fiddle instructor a few years ago, came up from NYC on Amtrak. Folks at the school would be happy to arrange pick ups and drop offs.
