Default Guitar Effect Pedals and Electronic Bagpipes

A limitation of the *highland* bagpipe is that it only plays one octave.

I like the idea of an effects pedal to increase the range of the bagpipe beyond it's traditional one octave scale.

This pedal seems to do the trick.

Of course on an electronic bagpipe, a pitch shifting pedal would shift the drone pitch also.

I guess you could mic drones and chanter of an acoustic bagpipe separately and send only the chanter through the pedal so that only the chanter would change pitch?

Or maybe an electric chanter with acoustic drones?
