Default (low) G pitched chanter?

Hi,

Has anyone ever run into a G pitched SSP chanter? With some minor modifications you can play G-major tunes on an A pitched chanter but lately I have run into several tunes that other musicians play in C-maj and it occurred to me that I could play with them in the key they are used to if I had a G pitched chanter (basically playing a G-mix scale with a leading low F). If anyone has any thoughts or experience with such a thing, please let us know.

Best regards,
Kevin
