Default International travel with Technopipes

Have a bit of extended travel coming up and will be flying a number of times within China (original departure from the US). I'd like to bring the Fagerstrom Technopipes, but am concerned about whether security screeners will have an issue. Like all of my electronics, I plan to remove them from my carry-on luggage and place them in the security totes used for xray.

During past domestic trips with a practice chanter, I've always placed it in the tote and preemptively explained it's purpose, which has worked out quite well. Open to any suggestions.

My apologies if I've posted this in the wrong location.

All the Best,
Ken

I travel a lot and it's never got a second look and most often it's in my carry on!

You can always have the screeners try it out as well as scan it if they need to. Ensure that it has fresh batteries, so they can hear its intended use.

Great idea! I've actually had a screeners make requests, after telling him what my PC was. However his boss thwarted the request before I finished installing the reed.

Only questioned once in multiple number of international flights as carry-on and it's ensconced in 4" ABS pipe with caps!

It couldn't hurt to separate the battery, while in transit.

I've travelled around Asia (but not China) with mine and never had a second look. I always keep it in the cardboard tube it came in with the instructions and a set of headphones in with it. Usually it's carry on, occasionally in the hold.

It's sailed through while my pipes (which I always carry on) have been inspected regularly.

I've just done 10 international flights in 3 weeks. Absolutely no problem at all. Have it in my jacket pocket all the time. Never been asked about it ever. I normally do 25 to 30 flights a year. Never a problem. Happy playing
