Matt told me he was using Ezeedrone tenors and a cane bass (likely an Apps). In this competition he used a Naill chanter.

There's another video here where he is playing with the same set-up, and it's confirmed he uses an Apps molded chanter reed. Unfortunately, the sound reproduction is not very good compared to the other vids.

As an aside Flyrod, I've been really enjoying Selbie tenors with a Kinnaird Evolution bass in my set of Kyos. The Kinnaird adds just a bit more oomph and grittiness and tenor harmonics appear enhanced, but without diminishment of the silkiness and halo effect of the Selbies.

Great to hear. I currently play Selbie tenors with an Eeze inverted bass, and the sound is pretty good. I have a set of Kinnard reeds around; I may pop one in the bass drone to see how that sounds.

Cheers!

Reach out for a set of MG carbon tongue reeds... bass with a reverse tongue. Assured you will be impressed.

I do like the sound of carbon tongue reeds, at least in Kinnaird, Canning, and Crozier, so thanks for the suggestion.

If you get a set....guaranteed if playing behind a curtain anyone will think they're super...and could only guess at what big brand is being played.
