Slow Airs and marches first (I went through the CoP green book):

Slow Air - Scots Wha Hae
2/4 March - Brown Haired Maiden

After that I branched off from the green book and started learning

Hornpipe - Itchy Fingers
4/4 March - Scotland the Brave/Wings

And that's what I'm up to now. I like slow airs so I've gone back to try and learn Carles Wi the Breeks, and I've been playing around with Struan Robertson's Salute for a piobaireachd.

I learned out of Logan's Tutor, and was taught all the embellishments before I started learning tunes. I'm not sure I remember for sure, but I believe my first tune was Highland Laddie.

So my first tunes:
Slow march - Loch Rannoch
2/4 - Highland Laddie (first tune)
First competition 2/4 - Major Norman Orr Ewing
3/4 - Green Hills of Tyrol
4/4 - Scotland the Brave
6/9 - Pibroch of Donald Dhu
Strathspey - Louden's Bonnie Woods and Braes
Reel - Piper of Drummond
Jig - Cork Hill
Hornpipe - Tam Bain's Lum
Piobaireachd - Gordon's Salute
