The distance between 2 chromatic notes is 100 cents, so if you're roughly 50 cents flat (or sharp) the needle on a chromatic tuner will jump back and forth between a really flat note and a really sharp note one note down. See my above post about the tuning of high G. Regular high G is at -31 cents flat and there is no correct tuning flatter than that. All the alternative piob high G's are the same or sharper as I wrote in a post above.
