Default Mallet finger in the right hand pinkie

Anyone ever have to deal with this? I got it by catching an under inflated football wrong (insert Tom Brady jokes here). I've already been out for a month and got at least 5 more weeks to go. Gonna try to jerry rig a top splint so I can at least practice w/o birls ..

I got it once, catching a soccer ball kicked by my dear son. It is the weirdest thing seeing the pinky end just drooping. Fortunately, mine was my left pinkie, but get it splinted, keep it splinted and it does fix itself.

I do hope you've had it splinted the entire time.

Yes, had to deal with this, modified a plastic splint
with a cutout and "mole skin" in the cutout.

The gizmo worked "OK" for birls, until the
tendon healed.

I still have a 20 degree (or so) angle, but if anything
my birls are better.

Contact me by email... I might be able to locate it,
and send a picture.

I'm gonna break out the dremel tool later and play around w/the various splints I have. Thanks for the advice and the good news about the birls!

I got mine playing catch w/my nieces fiance

That's what the doc said, just keep it splinted. I got various ones and even one specifically for showering.

Wow, I got to the words "dremel tool" and am glad you were referring to the splint! My mind went to an odd place with tendons and 'fixes.' Hope it all goes well. Rest and proper splinting can do wonders. Best of luck.
