Default BRAW Tuner

I take a look. It shows tuning of everything at once. I thought $29.99 was a little steep for an app but I just used it to get ready for tomorrow. It was very helpful for a solo appearance.

I have found this app useful for quickly getting chanters tuned.

I use it for tuning my chanter. It works great.

Over the weekend I was tuning drones for a band and used BeeFlat. Of all Iíve tried (Blair v.2 and app, Braw, etc.), the BeeFlat has proved th easiest to use.

Others may have different preferences and those are all good, but for tuning band drones, the Peterson Strobo+ or the Peterson iPhone app is the best I have seen and used over several years. Just make the bars stop, then go to the next drone...

You can use the Peterson Strobo+ with the bagpipe sweetener to set up chanters as well. The Strobo+ does a real nice job on chanters one note at a time. The Braw tuner on the other hand -- just play a tune or two and then take a look at the screen to see whether each note is sharp, flat or spot on. I still can't believe how cool that feature is! I will see how the Braw Tuner does with the band drones tonight at rehearsal.
