[QUOTE=majorvonhapen;1320235]Blair tuners are bringing out a new electronic practice chanter.

That is a lot of money..optical sensors require rather a lot more circuitry compared to capacitive touch, and in experiments don't work any better for the extra hassle and wiring.
Having a pure midi controller works for me, using the audio out of a phone or ipad along with associated volume controls is far easier to get to sound ok. The latest bluetooth MiPuc also allows it to be used as power supply. Maybe time to post a new video.

I will agree the Blair echanter is too expensive.

However, which experiments are you basing your comment about optical sensors 'don't work any better'?

I have both, and there is a world of difference in my hands... The conductivity of skin, especially in the dry winter, is a well-documented problem.

Now that I am using the optical a-pipes, I can play whenever - I don't have to worry about lotion availability or it wearing off.

My experience has shown, at least to me, that optical sensors DO perform better.

On pipes I've been making for some time..... Also said extra wiring and circuitry being another governing factor.
Perhaps I am just lucky that it's never got that dry here or that everyone who has tried my pipes has naturally greasy fingers?

Glad you're happy, I'll just stick to my own thing and archaic ideas.
