It makes no sense. You blow, not suck. With a blow-valve there should be no air coming from the bag.

I'm no doctor, but I find it hard to believe that it's a serious risk, as I for one would have keeled over from a neglected bagpipe long ago.

Right!? I mean our bags have to be filled with bacteria lol

Anyways. It was a onetime thing as far as I know. But seemingly not bagpipe related.
