Default Re: Large mouthpiece protector

I saw the Reed Wrangler years ago, and liked the idea of it. However, the price was too steep for my limited budget. So I improvised. I took an Airstream mouthpiece with a mouthpiece protector, shoved a 6 inch piece of 1/2 in diameter irrigation tubing over it, taped it down with electrical tape, then trimmed the end to fit my mouth. No matter how hard I gnaw on it, I can't collapse it, but it makes a nice oval. Total cost for the tubing, about a nickel. Lasts for years, and costs almost nothing to replace it if you need to. Works for me.....
