Yes, I gather that there isn't an easy answer to this one. I hope to keep my present level of playing the GHB just to make sure I don't start to slip in technique and stamina and make the smallpipes a compliment to make me a more flexible and versatile piper. We'll see how that goes, I'll try to get back with a report. Now have only 13 to 15 weeks left to make myself mentally prepared for the challenge...

I play in a GHB band as well as small ensembles with my SSP and enjoy them both. I admit I'm not a fantastic player on either but I play well enough to get by since I don't compete. The main problem I've had is my PM reminding me that I need to use G grace notes instead of Es. Oops!! Since you seem to have a stronger grounding in the Highland pipes, that may not be an issue for you in maintaining your level of playing on those. Good luck and have fun!!
