No, they can't.

Personally, I think they are being very cheeky indeed with this. I know they did. It last year, never saw the show.

5 weeks hard work, crap food not even accomodation, for no money, while people pay to come and watch u?

aye, right.

I know they are depending on the "I've always wanted to play at the tattoo" thing. And should admit, at my first one, 1981, I gave up 10 days annual leave for the same reason. But they are taking the micheal

Yet another layer and sheen... to parsimony... :)

Perhaps... they could garner... some kazoos... :)

Agreed.

My rule is, if the lighting crew are working for free, so will I.

Very rarely happens!

I'm sure they did have accommodation, which was not bad to be fair, also the food was good. The non-British military cast stay at Edinburgh University.

Sorry to revive such an old thread, but here's the list of bands at the 2017 Edinburgh Tattoo

So there's the Scots Guards and one band from the Royal Regiment of Scotland. 154 (Scottish) Regiment Royal Logistic Corps completes the Scottish regiments.

For comparison here's the table of contents from the 2000 Tattoo which shows the bands participating
